Benidorm - Day 7

Had breakfast and then Aunty Joan & Mike picked us up from the hotel to take us up to Altea. We went up to their house for a bit of lunch and drinks as Aunty Joan always makes nice food. Their house overlooks the first hole of a golf course so you can watch people playing while you catch some rays.

It's so quiet and peaceful and they have got the house lovely. Lots of greenery and feels very authentically Spanish. It's like a little overseas oasis where you can just relax and do nothing if you don't want to.

After lunch I went for a swim in their pool, and I had it all to myself so did 16 lengths of the pool. It was lovely and sunny so the cool water was a welcome change from the sun. Nobody else came down to the pool, just me so I had complete peace and quiet for a bit.

Once I had dried off we took s ride down to the newly modernised seasfront in Altea. Mike drove up to a bar further up the prom with mum while me and Joan walked along to catch them up.

After a few drinks (and complimentary tapas) in a bar we headed up to Altea Square. It was a nice walk along a cute cobbled street with shops and bars all along. It was such a nice stroll and felt like a proper traditional village and nothing like Benidorm which is full of Karaoke bar and English pubs etc. This is more my kind of place and the type of holiday I would prefer to go on, I've not really been into big partying holidays for a while now, even before I gave up alcohol.

When we got to the square there were some lovely views as the sun was going down and you could see for miles. I just wish we had longer here as I would love to have a nice meal with this kind of view as the sun was going down.

Mike dropped us back at the hotel and then we packed ready for an early start tomorrow morning back home.
