Benidorm - Day 3

Woke up to another lovely and sunny day and headed down for breakfast. I am trying to vary it each day and also not overindulge. I really want to go home weighing less than when I left, so that I don't come back feeling like I have undone all the work I did before my hols. I'm hoping with all the extra steps and not drinking alcohol it should be manageable.

I had decided when we arrived at the hotel that I would not use the lift the whole holiday and try and get more steps in (at least 10,000 a day in preparation for my October challenge). Little did I know we would be on the 8th floor (ninth when you go a floor lower to the restaurant). Hopefully, this will help improve my fitness by the end of the holiday (if it doesn't kill me).

I attached our Tavern on Tour flag that Sarah bought me to the balcony with sunbed pegs so that anyone passing the hotel would know we were here.

After breakfast, we met Andy at Daytona bar on the seafront for a spot of people-watching and a couple of cold drinks. OPh how times have changed, mum had a strawberry daiquiri and I had a bottle of water. The old me would have been on red wine and coke during the day. I don't miss it though as it's great to have my wits about me and actually remember everything. I can even remember everyone's names from last night, which would never have happened lol.

We then walked up to the old town to a place that Andy had been to before called "Street Tapas" which had a great offer on, 5 beers and 5 small tapas for 12€ They were large beers too and hen the tapas were the small one that were a slice of french bread with different things on top and hey heating them once you chose them. How tapas originally started as a bite to eat while you drank to keep you in the bar. Mum was advertising the tavern with my extra large beach towel I ordered online lol.

After tapas we went up to see more of the old town where you could see the two main beaches of Benidorm, Levante and Poniente. I love the more traditional part of Benidorm rather than the Blackpool with sun part.

We then headed back down towards the new town to Tiki Beach bar which was absolutely rammed and must be a popular haunt. We luckily managed to find a table outside on it's own with no chairs and just grabbed some spare chairs from other tables. After another cool-down and people-watching session, we all headed back to our hotels for a siesta. Me n mum had dinner at 7:30pm and then decided we would have a night in and just stick the telly on. I can't do every night out until the early hours or I end up knackered and go home needing another holiday. At most I like to do one night out then the next one in (if that). The kind of holidays I enjoy now nave definitely changed, I like to see places and chill so I come back refreshed.

Oh and just before I went to sleep I checked todays steps...

Not getting the lift if working 32 floors!!!

Plus walking the length and breadth of the prom soon mounts up. Hopefully will burn off the food I'm eating as I'm not tracking my calories for the holiday. Got to have some pleasures ;-)

Goodnight Benners!
