Istanbul - Day 6

My alarm didn't go off this morning, or I forgot to set it so I literally leaped out of bed and went down for breakfast. I messaged Kirsty and she was still asleep but I knew she wouldn't miss out on food and she was down in 10 minutes lol.

I just had cereal then cake and a coffee for breakfast which really is not the healthy start to the day I should have so I will make a conscious effort to have some fruit tomorrow for breakfast to get my vitamins.

After breakfast I went back to my room to sort out some work admin and also do a couple of teaser posts on Canva to post into the Tavern ready to announce the Buckt Bargain tomorrow.

I am hoping that this will be the first of many partnerships with big brands and we can start giving members perks just for being part of the group. Also, it would be good to start generating an income stream for the tavern to take the pressure off me when things need to be paid for. Now we are a CIC we have to submit accounts and reports etc through an accountant which is about £600+ a year so without a revenue stream the money just won't be there. This will be our first venture where members will get a great deal but The Tavern will also be paid a sign-up fee, so it's a Win/Win/Win arrangement.

Met the girls in reception and then went for a walk along the waterfront as it was a really nice day. With it being Sunday a lot of the locals were out sitting on the grass and having little BBQs and picnics etc.

Today is also my unofficial (as it's actually longer in weeks) 3-month anniversary of going Alcohol-free. I've done my regular reflection on a separate post HERE

After a walk, we decided to pop into Pizza Hut for some lunch. I know that this goes against my usual ethos on holiday of eating te local foods etc but I am so over bbq meat. Most places are just the same menu pretty much with little variety. It feels likes all we do is eat, sleep and repeat. There isn't that much to do when the weather is unpredictable and today is Sunday, tomorrow is a bank holiday so a lot of places are closed. We had hoped to go to the Blue Mosque and also the Grand Bizzare but I'm not sure if we will have time to fit them both in as Kirsty is back at the dentist again Tuesday for her crowns fitted. We will play it by ear.

Me & Kirsty had chicken bites for lunch. Kirsty went for the ones with a cheese sauce and I went for sweet chilli. I didn't fancy pizza again after already having it yesterday. Yet again I forgot to take a pic of the food so had to settle for getting a pic of the poster on the way out. Layla went back to the place we ate at the other day and had a chicken sandwich again then we headed back to the hotel for a little naparoony.

We went up to the rooftop bar to watch the sun go down and Honour (Kirsty's barman friend from last visit) opened up the roof for us. We had mentioned about the cafe over the road that we spotted that was open top so he must have thought he better up his game to keep us in for a bit lol, Kirsty asked him about the chicken and walnut dip she had last time we came as it wasn't on the menu. He spoke to the kitchen and told her that he would arrange for some to be made for her for tomorrow bless him.

Oh and for full disclosure I do enhance the sky's on some of my pics, when I think nature could have made more of an effort lol. I don't change me though you just get what you get, lines, chins the lot lol. I never understand when people only ever have pics with blurred filters on and enhance their features. Love, that's not you. Either do some work on the inside so that you can love who you see in the mirror or just don't have pics taken. Don't live your whole online life as a catfish, cos at some point people are going to see you in the flesh and you will look nothing like your pics. Better to be a pleasant surprise in person and be better than your pics, than be a big disappointment cos you don't have the in-person filters available.

Kirsty and Layla went out for something to eat but I wasn't hungry as I feel like I'm just eating constantly. I think I have not go as big an appetite as I used to have. So I went to my room and started watching Citadel on Amazon Prime. Brilliant!! I was a bit gutted though that I could only watch up to episode 2. I think we are used to being able to binge-watch everything on demand these days, so it feels odd having to wait a week to watch the next one. :-(
