Back to Virtual Reality

Updated: Jul 4, 2023

Me and Bella went on a road trip at 8am to go and pick mum up from Caravan. Layla travelled down (or up I don't have any idea of geography lol) and is taking Kirsty back to London with her. the drive wasn't too bad traffic wise and we just had time for some breakfast before heading back home as I had my Tesco delivery to get back for. I have probably started spending less when I shop by doing it online as I tend to just order what I have added to my Alexa list over the course of the week. It's so easy I just say "Alexa add X to my shopping list" and then when I come to do my shop it's all saved in the Alexa app on m phone. Why mum doesn't do that I don't know it would stop her forgetting to order stuff.

I left Bella with Mum when we got back as she hasn't seen her in a few weeks. Plus I have a busy day tomorrow with 3 appointments and a long drive to Cockermouth.

It's been one of those weekends where I have felt low on energy and not wanted to do anything. I think the weather plays a big part in it but also I must get burn-out every now and then and need to recharge. So I might try and incorporate the recharging into my weekends and not set my alarm and just wake up when I wake up. It was one of those days when I had made plans but could quite easily have cancelled. Luckily the plans were with someone else (our Danni and Preston and Mason) so I didn't want to let them down.

I had been invited to bring a team of 3 (including me) to play a VR tournament game on a new game they had launched called Sol Heist at Meetspace VR (the place I went with LEx and Fi). I would have invited them two but they had Lynda and Deba coming over. It's sods law though that Lynda had been ill and they weren't now coming until Tuesday, but I has already invited Danni and the boys.

It ended up being a really good night and like always once you are there you have a good time. The hardest but about activities is motivating yourself to just get there (a bit like the gym). We played 2 games of 3 rounds and lost the first set by a landslide but then won the 2nd set. Apparently, they have this thing every month on the first Sunday so I reckon we will do it again and maybe bring other teams who want to play. It's so weird once you have your headset on as you really feel like you are in this different world. I can see VR and augmented reality becoming more a part of everyday life. It would be great to be able to browse the shops online and click and item and virtually try it onto your avatar to see what it looks like on. It would open up a whole new world of possibilities for people with disabilities or phobias etc to be able to go out without leaving the house.

This is what Danni saw.... lol

I can't wait to see what next months Buckt activities are as I am loving doing all these new experiences.
